How long does a traditional apprenticeship last?
Generally, training lasts two to three years, depending on the chosen occupation. In some cases, it is possible to shorten the three-year training programme.
3-year apprenticeships: Hotel specialist, Cook, Specialist for restaurants and event catering, Office management assistant
2-year apprenticeships: Catering specialist, specialising in restaurant service or chain catering, Kitchen specialist
Where is the vocational school located?
The vocational school for our companies in Ostholstein is located in Neustadt in Holstein (Reiferbahn 2).
The vocational school for our company in Travemünde is located in Lübeck (Parade 2).
Where is the university located?
Duale Hochschule Schleswig-HolsteinThe DHSH (Schleswig-Holstein Cooperative State University) is located in Lübeck (Guerickestraße 6). It offers a business administration degree programme with a focus on tourism management.
However, it is also possible to study at the DHBW in Ravensburg. Here, too, the programme is a business administration degree with a focus on leisure management or hotel and restaurant management (depending on the company).
Can accommodation be provided?
We have staff accommodation in Timmendorfer Strand, and if we have a room available in a shared flat, it is possible to rent a room for the first few months.

When can I apply for an apprenticeship or a place at university??
As a general rule, the earlier the better. We are happy to accept your applications for the coming year from autumn onwards.
How much will I earn?
The training allowance is regulated by collective agreement. In addition, we pay our trainees and dual students an additional €100.00 gross per month.
Can I be hired by the company after completing my training?
Of course, there is the possibility of being hired by one of our companies after completing your training.
What should I include in my application?
A complete application includes a cover letter, a CV in table form and at least your most recent school report.
How long will my studies take?
The dual study programme lasts three years and leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree. If you study in Lübeck, you will automatically learn the hotel management profession (this is done through the Lübeck Chamber of Industry and Commerce). You will also have the opportunity to obtain your trainer qualification.
What areas will I learn about during my studies?
During your studies, you will gain experience in all relevant areas of the hotel, including service, housekeeping, reception, and marketing.
What opportunities will I have after completing my training??
With training in the hotel/catering industry, you have a wide range of opportunities. On the one hand, there is the chance of being taken on by the company. You can apply abroad or on a cruise ship, gain experience with seasonal work (e.g. working in Switzerland in winter, by the sea in summer). Further training to become a hotel manager or master craftsman is another option. Or you can become a trainer, etc.
